Collections Specialist
Location Winterville, NC | Onsite


Compensation & Schedule
• $15 hour - increase to $22 once converted
Must be available to work any day of the week: Monday - Friday 7am - 9pm | Saturday 8am - 2pm | Sunday 2pm - 8pm
• OT will be mandatory - amazing opportunity to make more money!

ROLE IMPACT
This role ensures timely recovery of delinquent accounts while maintaining professionalism and adherence to standardized collection procedures. Success is defined by resolution rates, adherence to compliance practices, and quality of customer interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Meet or exceed daily and monthly call targets, contact ratios, and promises-to-kept ratios
• Place and prioritize outbound/inbound calls to negotiate payment plans based on borrower capacity and intent
• Determine causes of delinquency and propose best resolutions; escalate problem accounts as needed
• Log all collection activities in system using correct action codes and documentation procedures
• Initiate and process account actions including deferrals, skip tracing, credit bureau requests, and payment drafts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 1–2 years’ experience in collections, customer service, or call center environment
• Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in reading credit reports and using account management systems
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow documented policies and procedures

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Collection management systems (e.g., Fiserv, CARMPro)
• CRM platforms
• Electronic payment processing tools
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Credit reporting software
• Skip tracing tools
• Internal action code logging systems

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Prior financial services or lending experience
• Familiarity with FDCPA and other relevant debt collection regulations
