COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $50,000–$60,000/year
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Direct Hire

ROLE IMPACT
This role anchors workforce continuity and compliance for a tightly knit construction team. As the sole in-house payroll and HR point of contact, you’ll oversee weekly payroll accuracy, manage seamless onboarding, and enforce compliance—all while supporting field and office operations in a high-volume, hands-on environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process weekly, multi-department payroll including certified payroll, job costing, and labor classifications
• Administer full-cycle onboarding: offer letters, orientation, documentation, and system setup
• Maintain accurate records in payroll and HRIS systems; ensure compliance with labor and tax laws
• Provide frontline support for employee inquiries around pay, benefits, and onboarding
• Partner with supervisors to verify hours, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate new hire logistics
• Assist with system transitions (Sage ? new platform, Fall 2025) and troubleshoot user issues
• Ensure all documentation meets I-9, E-Verify, and other regulatory requirements


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years’ payroll experience in construction or comparable industrial environment
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience with full-cycle onboarding and HR compliance practices
• Strong command of wage and hour laws, job costing, and certified payroll reporting


CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Sage (current) and other payroll/HRIS platforms
• Time-tracking software (e.g., TSheets, ExakTime, or similar)
• Microsoft Office Suite


PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance
• Familiarity with construction workforce dynamics and seasonal labor cycles
• Ability to thrive in small-team, cross-functional environments
