• $17.82/hour
• Hours vary by location; may include Saturdays
• W2 | Full-Time
ROLE IMPACT
As a Bilingual Customer Service Clerk in the WIC Department, you will be on the front lines of service—interviewing applicants, verifying eligibility, and assisting with nutritional documentation. Your support ensures access to vital services and contributes to the well-being of local families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interview applicants and assess income/residency eligibility for WIC services
• Collect and enter medical and nutritional data, including height, weight, and blood samples
• Issue EBT food instruments and perform accurate data entry in Texas WIN
• Provide courteous participant check-in, appointment scheduling, and program guidance
• Maintain participant files and assist with clerical tasks such as filing and phone support
• Screen immunization records and refer participants to appropriate services as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare, education, or social services
• Must be bilingual – Spanish required
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
• Comfortable working with WIC’s target population and eligible to be trained as a paraprofessional
• Ability to complete WIC nutrition modules during probationary period
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with WIC processes and nutritional education
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency and accurate data entry
