Lead Maintenance Technician

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $29-$33/hour (Based upon experience)
• Full-time, standard hours with on-call rotation including weekends and holidays
• W2
• Start date: As soon as available
ROLE IMPACT
The Lead Maintenance Technician ensures the operability and upkeep of multiple single-family and multifamily rental properties in the greater Austin area. The technician plays a key role in property readiness, preventative maintenance, and resident satisfaction.
KEY DUTIES
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, and fire/life safety systems
• Execute and close work orders in Buildium within 24 hours
• Turn over units with cleaning, painting, and repairs for new residents
• Perform regular unit inspections for safety and compliance
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs, including nights and weekends
• Maintain accurate records of work performed using smart devices and property management software
• Coordinate with vendors and monitor contractor performance
• Conduct inventory checks and procure supplies as needed
• Develop and deliver training materials for technical skills development
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential property maintenance
• HVAC and EPA certifications required
• Strong proficiency in plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, and painting repairs
• Valid driver’s license, reliable work vehicle (truck/van), and auto insurance
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Work performed across multiple residential and small commercial properties in Austin
• Frequent use of property management software and smart devices
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Electrical and plumbing certifications
• Bilingual English/Spanish
