REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ months experience with domestic or wild animals in a shelter, clinic, or similar setting
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work in noisy environments
• Able to follow instructions and maintain accurate records
• Proficient in oral/written communication and multitasking

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with animal first aid or disease symptom recognition
• Knowledge of local/state animal care regulations
• Prior municipal or animal shelter experience

 

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

  • $15/hr

  • Schedule: Flexible schedule Monday–Sunday between 8:30AM–6:30PM

  • Part Time | 29 hours/week

  • Start Date: ASAP

ROLE IMPACT

  • Plays a vital role in ensuring the humane care, safety, and health of animals housed at the municipal shelter

  • Supports animal health and cleanliness through feeding, treatment, observation, and facility sanitation, directly impacting public health, animal welfare, and operational efficiency

 

KEY DUTIES
• Provide daily food and water to animals in accordance with municipal standards
• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize animal cages, pens, and kennels per disease control protocols
• Administer vaccinations and medications; assist with microchipping as needed
• Receive animals, update identification and medical records, and observe for signs of illness
• Maintain supply areas and inventory of food, litter, and sanitation products

 

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Operate hoses, dishwashers, restraining gear, computer, copier
• Exposure to indoor/outdoor weather, loud noise, and strong odors
• Required to read and handle cleaning/medical agent labels
