• Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 5:30pm
• W2, Contract-to-Hire
ROLE IMPACT
As the first point of contact for patients and referral sources, the Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless intake and admission process. This position supports the sales and pharmacy teams by verifying insurance, gathering documentation, and authorizing services to deliver compassionate, efficient care coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process incoming referrals and ensure all required documentation is complete
• Enter patient demographics, insurance, and authorization data into internal systems
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations per payer requirements
• Communicate referral status, insurance details, and patient financial obligations to internal teams and patients
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and patient records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years' experience in healthcare referral intake or insurance verification
• High School Diploma or GED (Associate's degree preferred)
• Proficient in handling Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer types
• Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and customer service orientation
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• EMR or intake software
• Insurance verification portals
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Phone systems for inbound/outbound communication
• CRM tools (if applicable)
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Knowledge of Amerita’s service capabilities
• Previous experience in a home infusion or pharmacy intake setting
• Spanish-English bilingual skills
