COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $15.14/hr
• Flexible 8-hour shifts between 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• W2
• Start Date: ASAP

ROLE IMPACT
This position supports the efficient operation of cafeteria services across multiple DISD campuses, ensuring safe, timely preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to students. Success in this role enhances daily food operations and student satisfaction through dependable service and adherence to food safety guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of student meals according to daily menus
• Serve meals to students and manage cafeteria line flow
• Receive and store grocery deliveries, ensuring proper inventory practices
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment
• Perform additional kitchen and service tasks as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and sanitation standards
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted and up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Texas Food Handler Certificate required by start date

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Food service equipment (ovens, warmers, coolers)
• Cleaning/sanitation products and procedures
• Food inventory and storage protocols
• Manual and digital timekeeping systems

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Prior experience in school or institutional food service
• Familiarity with child nutrition regulations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
