Financial Aid Administrative Assistant
Fort Worth, TX | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $17–$20 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (extended hours required during peak periods)
• Full-time, Temp to Hire
ROLE IMPACT
This position supports the Financial Aid Office by serving as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and internal staff. Success in this role is defined by the ability to manage a high-volume front desk environment, resolve customer service issues with professionalism, and support document workflows during peak seasons. This is an ideal opportunity for an administrative professional looking to grow within the education and financial aid domain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greet and assist students and guests at the front desk, providing accurate, empathetic service
• Answer and direct incoming calls and respond to email inquiries promptly
• Organize and intake documents for scanning and processing; ensure data accuracy
• Support calendar coordination, supply ordering, proofreading, and general office duties
• Participate in financial aid orientations and assist with FAFSA-related events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of administrative support or front office experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Must not be in default on any Federal Student Loans
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
• Document imaging/scanning tools
• Office phone and voicemail systems
• Email platforms (e.g., Outlook mailbox management)
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience working in an educational or high-volume customer service environment
• Familiarity with financial aid processes or student services
• Exposure to Ellucian/Colleague or federal databases (COD, NSLDS, CPS)
