Manufacturing Technician (Extrusion)

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $26.00–$30.00/hr (DOE)
• Mon–Thurs, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (10-hour shifts)
• W2, Full-Time
ROLE IMPACT
This role ensures the consistent and efficient operation of extrusion production lines for high-precision manufacturing. Success is defined by equipment uptime, adherence to quality standards, and timely issue resolution that maintains output aligned with the production schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up, operate, and shut down extrusion line machinery according to documented procedures
• Adjust machine settings and monitor sensor outputs to maintain product quality and throughput
• Perform in-process checks and download data for quality review
• Troubleshoot mechanical and alignment issues with tooling, part handling, or material feed
• Complete preventive maintenance and minor repairs to reduce downtime
• Load and supply materials, including resins and inks, to keep lines running efficiently
• Support general production floor duties including cleanup and product packaging
• Escalate equipment or process issues to supervisors as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3+ years' experience with extrusion or plastics manufacturing equipment
• Working knowledge of production documentation, quality checks, and basic troubleshooting
• Ability to lift 20 lbs regularly and stand for extended shifts on concrete floors
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• PLC-driven machinery and sensor systems
• MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Production monitoring or MES tools (preferred)
• ERP or inventory management systems
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience with injection molding or robotic automation
• Familiarity with cleanroom or regulated production environments
• Understanding of TPM or lean manufacturing practices
