Auto Collections Specialist
Location: Winterville, NC | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
• $15/hour starting pay; increases to $22/hour upon permanent hire
• Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–9:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Flexible availability for mandatory overtime
• Month-End: Extended “Bell to Bell” shifts (7:00 AM–8:00 PM or 8:00 AM–9:00 PM, two 1-hour lunches)
• Sunday Dialer: Required 1–2 times per quarter, with possible additional Sundays at month-end
• Holidays: Call center open most holidays for temporary staff and volunteers
ROLE IMPACT
In this role, you will drive revenue recovery by engaging customers in professional, solution-focused discussions to resolve past-due accounts. Your ability to balance negotiation skills with empathy ensures positive customer relationships while achieving performance targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contact customers to resolve delinquent accounts using established procedures
• Consistently meet or exceed call volume, contact rate, and payment arrangement goals
• Negotiate repayment solutions tailored to each customer’s financial situation
• Document all account activity accurately in system records
• Escalate high-risk or complex accounts to supervisors in a timely manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED — REQUIRED
• 3 years of customer service experience — REQUIRED
• Prior call center or collections experience — preferred
• Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with collections systems and dialer technology
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
• Ability to work under strict deadlines in a high-volume environment
