Compensation & Schedule
• $15.14/hour
• Flexible 7-8-hour shifts between 5:00 AM–4:00 PM
• W2
• Start Date: ASAP

ROLE IMPACT
As a Cafeteria & Food Service Associate, you will support daily cafeteria operations across multiple DISD campuses by preparing, serving, and organizing meals in a clean, safe environment. Your reliability and attention to detail ensure students receive nutritious meals on time while maintaining high food safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and serve student meals following daily menus
• Manage cafeteria line flow to ensure efficient service
• Receive, organize, and store grocery and supply deliveries
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, serving areas, and equipment
• Perform additional kitchen or service duties as assigned by supervisors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and sanitation procedures
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted and up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Texas Food Handler Certificate — required by start date

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Food service equipment (ovens, warmers, coolers)
• Cleaning and sanitation products
• Food inventory and storage procedures
• Manual and digital timekeeping systems

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Prior experience in school or institutional food service
• Familiarity with child nutrition regulations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
