Team Lead / Benefit Verification Specialist (Contract)
Location Remote – Must reside in TX, NC, SC, TN, KY, IN, GA, or AZ | Remote-US
Compensation & Schedule
• $21/hour
• Full-time
• Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 8:00pm EST (Occasional Saturdays)
• Contract | Start Date: Early November
ROLE IMPACT
As a Team Lead supporting Benefit Verification Specialists, you’ll provide tactical leadership to remote staff conducting insurance investigations within a high-paced healthcare environment. Your success is measured by your team’s adherence to productivity benchmarks, quality standards, and delivery of excellent service to internal and external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide day-to-day direction and issue resolution support for benefit investigation processes
• Monitor team performance against productivity and quality benchmarks
• Support and coach team members to meet service expectations and compliance standards
• Assist with training, onboarding, and the development of job aids and documentation
• Escalate complex issues per defined protocols and maintain open communication across stakeholders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmacy, insurance, reimbursement hubs, or similar healthcare settings
• Proven experience in benefit investigations or verification workflows
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Prior leadership or supervisory exposure preferred, especially managing remote teams
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Microsoft Office Suite
• CRM or reimbursement management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot)
• Communication tools (Teams, Zoom)
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in seasonal workforce support
• Familiarity with quality control standards in healthcare processing
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Remote role – must provide a quiet, professional work-from-home setup
• Requires sitting for extended periods
• Must occasionally lift up to 10 lbs
• May require weekend work, online training outside regular hours, or limited travel
