Reimbursement Specialist
Location Remote-US | Must reside in TX, NC, SC, TN, KY, IN, GA, or AZ only
Compensation & Schedule
• $18/hour
• Full-time, W2
• 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST; Mon–Fri, occasional Saturdays as needed
Start date: Early November
ROLE IMPACT
This role supports the patient journey by ensuring timely and accurate insurance benefit investigations, prior authorization submissions, and resolution of reimbursement issues. The Reimbursement Specialist plays a critical part in connecting healthcare providers, payors, and patients to remove barriers to treatment access and improve care outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct benefit investigations, obtain necessary documentation, and process prior authorization requests for patient treatments
• Provide assistance to providers and patients in completing insurance forms and program applications
• Maintain frequent phone contact with provider representatives, payors, and pharmacy staff to expedite approvals
• Document all interactions accurately in internal systems and report reimbursement trends or delays to leadership
• Deliver exceptional customer service and escalate complex issues when necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, medical insurance, physician’s office, or healthcare or call center setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• General knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefits; familiarity with commercial and government payers preferred
