ROLE IMPACT
The Team Lead – Benefit Verification provides daily operational leadership and coaching to a team of remote Benefit Verification Specialists during seasonal, high-volume healthcare projects. Reporting to Micro-Hub Leadership, this role ensures productivity, quality, and customer service goals are consistently achieved. Success is measured by the team’s ability to meet service-level agreements, maintain accuracy, and deliver a positive experience for internal and external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide daily guidance, task assignment, and coaching to Benefit Verification Specialists to ensure timely and accurate benefit investigations.
• Monitor team productivity and quality, proactively addressing performance issues and escalating as necessary.
• Support seasonal employee onboarding and training to meet program benchmarks.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor and Area Director/Manager to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining program training materials and SOPs.
• Foster open communication, ensuring team members are informed and supported.
• Perform benefit verification tasks as needed to support workflow and service levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years’ experience in a specialty pharmacy, medical insurance, reimbursement hub, physician’s office, or healthcare setting.
• Prior benefit verification or reimbursement experience in a high-volume environment strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to direct remote team members effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Leadership or team lead experience preferred, but motivated senior specialists will be considered.
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• CRM or case management software
• Virtual meeting tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience managing or coaching remote teams.
• Familiarity with benefit reverification processes.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
