Role Impact
The Gate Walker ensures smooth and organized ground transportation flow for travelers departing the airport. This role exists to enhance the customer experience by guiding passengers to shared ride services such as Uber, Lyft, and taxi providers. Success is measured by maintaining safe, efficient traffic flow and delivering professional, courteous service in a fast-paced outdoor airport environment.
• Key Duties
• Provide direct customer service to travelers exiting the airport
• Direct passengers to designated Uber, Lyft, and taxi pick-up locations
• Monitor and manage pedestrian and vehicle flow to maintain safety and efficiency
• Communicate clearly with drivers and travelers to reduce congestion and confusion
• Remain present and attentive outdoors throughout the shift
• Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation to accommodate a midnight shift end time
• Equipment & Work Environment
• Outdoor airport curbside environment
• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)
• High-traffic area with continuous traveler interaction
Preferred Skills
• Previous airport, hospitality, or transportation experience
• Experience with ride-share operations (Uber, Lyft)
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-volume environments
