Role Impact
The Logistics Operations Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of daily transportation and time-sensitive delivery operations. This role supports on-time performance, regulatory compliance, and cold chain integrity by optimizing routes, coordinating drivers, and monitoring shipments from pickup through final delivery. Success is measured by accurate documentation, proactive problem-solving, and consistent adherence to temperature-control and transportation standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes and driver assignments to meet service level expectations
• Recover and tender freight at local airports; coordinate timely pickup and secure transfer of shipments
• Track shipment status, customs or clearance updates, and special handling instructions; communicate changes to drivers and internal stakeholders
• Maintain cold chain logistics (temperature-controlled supply chain) across inbound and outbound shipments, including airport and facility storage
• Prepare, condition, and manage gel packs and temperature-controlled packaging materials
• Monitor inbound/outbound calls, shared email inboxes, and shipment tracking systems; ensure accurate data entry within dispatch platforms
• Manage “On-Hold” shipments and track outbound flights to confirm proper export release and delivery authorization
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Escalate service failures, complaints, or shipment discrepancies to leadership promptly
• Provide operational support to leadership and assist with daily workflow as needed
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• 2–3 years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. safely
Equipment & Work Environment
• Combination office and warehouse setting based on daily operational needs
• Periodic work inside delivery trucks during freight loading and unloading
• Required entry into walk-in refrigeration and freezer units; thermal protective apparel provided
• Frequent computer use, phone communication, and multi-system data entry
• Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and a strong sense of urgency
Preferred Skills
• Experience with dispatch software or transportation management systems (TMS)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and team collaboration skills
