COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $24–$28/hour (based on experience)
• Monday–Friday | Flexible 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• W2 | Full-Time
ROLE IMPACT
As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating risk and determining policy eligibility. Your decisions will ensure compliance, protect company interests, and support strong client relationships through accurate and timely underwriting practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review insurance applications and supporting documentation to assess risk
• Determine coverage eligibility and appropriate premium levels
• Apply underwriting guidelines, policies, and industry standards to make decisions
• Approve, modify, or decline applications based on established criteria
• Communicate decisions clearly with agents, brokers, and internal teams
• Maintain accurate records within underwriting systems
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex underwriting cases
• Manage existing policies including renewals, endorsements, and cancellations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required
• 2–5+ years of underwriting or insurance industry experience (personal lines or auto required)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• Knowledge of underwriting principles and risk assessment methods
• Familiarity with insurance regulations and compliance standards
